Hello!
It is now the 1st of May! Almost halfway through 2015!! Time really flies.. Almost finished my first year of university. That's a weird thought, since it feels like I just started studying. When you notice how fast time flies, you often start thinking; "What am I doing with my time?" We are always told that these years are the best years of our lives. That we should enjoy it while we can. That we should just use this time to travel and discover yourself. I would love to travel and discover the different cultures and people around the world. Sadly money tends to play a big role when it comes to traveling. I could always just go backpacking and just randomly find a place to stay day by day, but I don't think I am spontaneous enough to do that. I kinda like to know that I have somewhere safe to sleep when I am traveling. Education is also something important that I would like to have, and the best time to get a proper education without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money, is when we are fresh out of high school. So of course I want to finish school and get a bachelor degree. It will always be handy to have, and it can function as a safety net later in life. So as much as the desire to travel the world is burning, I will finish what I started, and then I would really like to travel. But I don't want to plan too much of my future, because that's the magical thing about the future; there is no way of knowing what will happen. I try to take life a day at a time and enjoy it.
Life is really unpredictable, for example I have no idea where I will be living after summer vacation. My roommate and her boyfriend are moving in together, so of course I will have to find somewhere else to live. Now this wasn't anything that came as a surprise to me, since I knew he was moving here this fall anyway. But my point is that things always change. And the only thing we can do is face these new changes with a smile and an open mind. I know that I will find somewhere to live. I have already applied for a student dorm, but I don't know which I will get, so that is kinda exciting. It will be a new adventure in my life. And of course I know that I have friends who will back me up if I fail completely at finding a place. But come on, I will always find something. ^^ It always works out in the end.
When it comes to school, in fall I will be starting my third semester where I will be studying an extra subject instead of history. I will most likely be studying religious studies, not because I am a very religious person, but because I think it's very interesting to learn about the different religions that are around the world, and how they came to be. I am mostly looking forward to the south-asian religions with mainly hinduism and buddhism, but it is still interesting to learn about the others as well. This is also a topic that is very current. I think it's important to understand the way things function in all parts of the world, and that includes the different religious aspects, since it is such a big part of different countries' culture.
Until next time~

Travel Vlog; Home for Easter!
Hello guys!
I went home for easter vacation about a month ago, and spent a little over a week at my moms place. It was so nice being home, and seeing my mom and friends again. Got to eat soo much food. I did film quite a bit of my trip home, so I edited it and finally uploaded it today. You get to see some beautiful norwegian scenery from above in the video as well, since I filmed some on the plane.
I hope you enjoy it!

UPDATE from my life~
Holy marshmallow I am a horrible blogger...!
Yeah... I have been really dead on the blogging front, as well as on youtube.. >< Exams just completely throw me off. The good part is that they are soon over! :D *happy dance*
The weather has become really nice lately, almost feels like spring is actually here to stay now! *knocking on wood to not tempt fate* When the sun is shining and the temperature reaches almost 10-12 degrees celcius, I get so motivated to do stuff. I even went for a hike today! It was so refreshing and relaxing to be outside, listening to the birds sing and the movement of the forest. I will try to make that a regular thing for me to do.
This increase in sun and heat will also make my outfits a tad more interesting. I won't have to jump into my big, warm sweaters and jeans all the time anymore. Believe it or not, I actually managed to wear a maxi-dress today when I went for a info-meeting at school. That made it feel like spring.
What else have I been doing lately..?
Went to an x-russ party.
An x-russ party is a party where we who have been russ in earlier years dress up in our russebukse and re-live the old memories for one day.
If you don't know what a russ is, I'll quickly explain it now: In Norway when we graduate from high school, we celebrate this for approximately half a month to a month in the last spring semester by dressing up in colorful overalls that represent how many years we are graduating from. The color depends on what kind of line you have been studying. We have three main colors that are the most common: Red, Blue and Black. There are also Green ones, but they are not a common.

The color depends on what kind of line you have been studying. We have three main colors that are the most common: Red, Blue and Black. There are also Green ones, but they are not a common.
- The ones with Red overalls have finished three years of general studies, which is the basic that you need to get into a university. It means they have gotten general study competence, or special since some take extra math and chemistry and such.
- The Black or Blue ones are for them who have finished the two years of vocational studies, which are lines where you specifically study a trade such as health worker, chef or art. These lines only go for normally two years and then you go out working for two more years as an apprentice.
- The Green overalls are for those who study agriculture and such. There are not that many schools who provide this, so they are kinda rare.
I myself have been both a Red and a Black russ. I was first a Black russ in 2013 after finishing culinary school, but I chose not to go into apprenticeship, and instead take one extra year where I studied to get the general study competence. Which meant I got to be a Red russ in 2014.
If you want to know more detailed stuff about this fun celebration, there is a wikipedia page about it; here. (The information there might be a little different when it comes to the representation of the colors, but that is how it used to be before. The way I've listed it here is how it was at the school I was attending. Don't know if they do it much different in other schools.)
So anyway, we get to dress up in our old overalls one day every year to party and have fun. I chose to wear my Black overall since that is the oldest one, and there are fewer people who have Black compared to Red. I think I might wear the Red one next year. It's nice to be able to wary from year to year. We first had a pre-party at a friends apartment where we started at like 10-11am in the morning. This is a day where we drink all day. Then there was a gathering at an old fortress ground, so we went there. There was so many people there. Of course the amount of Red overalls were overwhelming compared to the other colors. We spent some time there, before heading back to our friends apartment to chill and drink some more. When it got around 11pm some of us went in to town. Didn't spend too long there since it started raining. Then I went home. It was a long day, but it was so much fun. I am already looking forward to next year. The sad thing is that when so many young people gather, and people are very drunk, they make a complete mess. And this day was no exception. The local news paper had been at the fortress grounds early the next morning, and it was flowing with trash, grills, an armchair and more stuff. I do not understand how people manage to make such a mess. I at least made sure to bring back all the empty bottles and trash I had with me. It wouldn't be such a big job cleaning if everyone just took their stuff. Hopefully they got it cleaned up.
.
.
Otherwise I have been sitting at school or at home preparing for exams. Been reading and re-writing lecture notes. Nothing fancy going on at all. Just plain, boring me digging myself down into books.
So I said earlier that I went for a hike today, and it really made me remember what it is I love about Norway; the nature. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons, and I dare say they are the most beautiful seasons in Norway. I am not a fan of cold weather, so it says itself that I am ecstatic when the degrees climb upwards, but there is just so much beauty in spring and summer as well. The trees grow new leaves and flowers, the birds sing and people seem generally happier. So when I went for my hike today, I took a couple of pictures of the beautiful norwegian nature that we are known for.
Here are a couple of pictures:
These pictures were taken on my Samsung, so they don't completely do the nature justice, but I think they do give a good idea of how beautiful it is. Next time I might bring my camera, but it's just so nice to walk around without thinking of pictures and internet, and just relax; taking it all in. But I do want to showcase the norwegian nature, so I might just do that.
Now If you might excuse me, I need to drift off to dream land because I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning.
Bye Bye~

Can't waste a beautiful day!
Gooood morning!
It's a beautiful Sunday morning, and the weather has been amazing lately! I don't want to spoil this great weather by sitting inside, so me and some friends are going to go exploring the area we live in. Later I think I'm going to film a haul video, because yesterday there was a duty-free kinda sale where they remove the customs part of the price, making a lot of stuff, especially electronics, kinda cheap. So I got some stuff from that sale, and I also have a lot of books from another anual book sale. So lots of stuff to show you.
I also have a What's in My Bag video that I need to edit as well, so hopefully there will be some videos up soon. ^^
Since the weather is being awesome lately, I think I might try vlogging some more as well, showing the beauty that is Norwegian nature during spring.
To not let this post only consist of me planning stuff, here are some photos from the last weeks;

Found this lamp in a clothing store in the beginning of the year, I kinda like it~

I'm trying to learn how to draw my eyebrows.. It's hard.. ><

A free concert we went to, they were raising money and awareness for cancer and cancer research. It was really good and so many people came and donated money, myself included. ^^

Spring is coming, needed to get some new sunglasses~ Loved the heart shape of these ones <3

Winter Lookbook 2015
Good evening world!
As usual I'm trying to study, but somehow get sidetracked... My buddy is coming over for dinner tonight, so me and my roommate just finished cleaning the dishes and getting the kitchen ready to make food.
In an earlier post I had some photos of my winter fashion, and I put together some clips and made a Winter Lookbook. It's a collection of the type of outfits I wear during winter.
When I filmed this, I wasn't sure what kind of angle to have, so it's quite the mixture... Hope it still looks good though. Let me know what angle you like the most.

Winter Fashion; Part 1
Good morning!
Since I've been down with influenza, or the flu, these past days, I recently run out of new youtube videos to watch, and I lost my attention span somewhere around there, so I decided to do something a little productive today. Show you my winter fashion, or at least some of it. This is the skirt/dress (short) version. Most of my jeans are currently in the washing basket, waiting to be washed, along with some other dresses and tops, so this is what I found in my closet that I would throw on in the morning before I go to lectures. When all the jeans and such have been washed, I'll take some photos and show how I style them in the winter.

Ways To Care For Your Immune System
Aaaachoo!....
Hello there! I think I have a slight influenza at the moment, and I thought I'd share with you what I do get well again and also just how I generally take care of my immune system to make sure I don't get sick all the time. I used to get sick all the time before, but after actually taking care of my immune system and figuring out what I'm lacking, I have been getting less sick.
Do take notice that this is what works for me. I can't guarantee you it will work on you, but most of the stuff I do is basic stuff that I think most people do.
1. Drink loads of liquid.
I usually try to drink a lot of water on a normal basis, so when I get sick I don't have to make drastic changes to my intake. Tea and water is mainly what I drink, and I'll also have a couple of cups with vegetable broth or something that is easily swallowed since my throat hurts. Usually I don't have much of an appetite when I'm sick so by drinking vegetable, chicken or other types of broth I still get a little bit of nutrition. Plus it's liquid, so it will help re-hydrate my body.
2. Vitamins
I usually eat/drink Vitamin-C supplements when I start feeling slightly groggy so I can fight the influenza or flu or cold before it really attaches itself to me. In my kitchen I have a box with Vitamin-C capsules and also some fizzing tables that I dissolve in water. It's important for your immune system to get enough vitamins to function and fight all the diseases that threaten. Also Vitamin-D are great for boosting the immune system. Here in Norway most people have a lack of Vitamin-D, especially during winter times when we hardly see the sun. So that I also take.
3. Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)
This is my holy grail. GSE is very versatile, I use it for cleaning my pierced ears, to disinfect wounds or infections and to fight influenza and other annoying bacterias. The list can go on and on, but those are some of the things that I remembered off the bat. When I feel my throat start to hurt, or if I'm feeling groggy, I take about 15-20 drops of GSE in a glass, add some water (not too much, not too little, usually like maybe a deciliter?) and stir it. The I drink it, and repeat later on the day. I think it works wonders for me. Combined with Vitamins and other supplements, I stay quite healthy these days.
4. Other supplements
In additon to Vitamins and GSE, I also take Olive Leaf Extract. This helps boost my immune system a lot. I do notice a difference from when I take the supplements and when I don't. I also take magnesium and calcium, the magnesium is mainly for my period cramps, and the calcium is because I don't get enough calcium taken up in my body all the time. Now this will differ from person to person, so what I have little of in my body, you might have enough of, so always consult a professional before you start taking too much supplements. It's always best to be sure so you don't take too much. But some of these things are quite harmless to take, for example Vitamin-C; it's water soluble, which means our body doesn't store it, so we have to include it in our diet anyway, so if one takes too much of it, it won't stay in the body. Too much Vitamin-C can cause diarrhea though. But nothing too serious, unless you have any special circumstances. If so, make sure you check what you can take, and what you can't.
5. Garlic
I love garlic! It's so delicious, and it boosts my immune system. I try to add as much garlic to my diet as possible, not only because it's good for fending of influenza and such, but it is a great addition to almost anything. A tip I learned recently is to eat at least one glove of garlic a day. I sometimes just take a whole glove and eat it as it is (chopped up in pieces though). Try it, you might discover a long lost love of garlic at the same time.
6. Sleep
This should probably be way longer up on the list, but I am just going by memory here now. Sleep is so so so important if you wanna stay healthy. If you get enough sleep, your body will be happy and healthy, and your immune system will thank you. When we sleep the body gets time to repair itself, so give it as much time as it needs, specially when you're sick. I try to go to bed kinda early whenever I'm sick so my body can restore itself.
7. Eat healthy
This is always important, not only for your immune system, but for your overall health. If you feed your body crap, it will feel like crap. Of course, once again, everybody is different. Some people might not feel like this, but in the later years the after effects of what you eat might come to haunt you. Whenever I'm sick I always get kinda lazy when it comes to food, but when I do make some proper food, it makes me feel much better than that pack of instant noodles did. When one is sick, eating healthy might not be too easy, but if you eat healthy on an average basis, it will be easier to keep it up while you're sick. Some instant noodles now and then when we're sick doesn't hurt, but don't let all your nutrions come from it. Eat vegetables, broth, meat, fruits or other healthy stuff. Although I would recumbent staying away from too much sugary foods like fruits, even though they contain loads of healthy stuff, they also contain fruit sugar, which in too big amounts might not be good for your body. Eat more vegetables instead, they are also packed with all the healthy stuff, but without the fruit sugar. Of course, some fruit is good, so don't get me wrong.
8. Relax
Get a good book or audio book and just sit back with your cup of tea to relax. Relaxing your body and mind will give the immune system more possibilities to work, and you will also feel better after some relaxing time. When I get sick, I almost always end up sitting by my computer or on my phone because I don't really have energy for anything else. But by using so much technology, my mind doesn't get a moment of peace, especially because of the lights coming from them. Close your computer, put your phone away and entertain yourself the old fashioned way for a couple of hours. You'll feel so much better afterwards.
These are some of the things I do to take care of my immune system and stay healthy. I hope you found it interesting, and do leave a comment if there is anything you'd want me to write/talk about.
