UK Vacation 2015; London Day 1

*Proper British accent* Good Day Lovely People!

It is now 6th of July, and the official day 1 in London. We were all quite exhausted after the long flights the day before, but we had ordered tickets for Madamme Toussauds which might show up from 9am, so we had to get up and be ready if the arrived. We got up, all in a zombie-like state, and got dressed, did our makeup and moved out into the streets.

We walked to the nearest underground, got ourself an Oyster card and took the Tube to Baker street. After getting to Madamme Toussauds, we found out that the tickets had not arrived yet, so we had to wait until they came by email. After a lot of going back and forth, they told us that we could just wait with the tickets, and when they arrived we could use them later. So we decided to save them for the next day. Instead we went to a park near by called Regents Park. Since the weather was really lovely, it would be a shame to stay inside all day. The park was incredibly beautiful. I really liked it. It was huge too.

Found the Sherlock Holmes statue!! :D The Greatest Detective <3

We went for a walk in Soho later, exploring the era looking for food. We found some bubble tea, and it was very good. Even though the tapioca was a little bit too much for me. Found a nice asian restaurant inside an open mall kinda place. It had really good food. <3

Then we walked around for a while and went down to Trafalgar Square.

Next stop of the day was Piccadilly Circus and then Chinatown London Market.

And a huge candystore <3

London Eye next!

We were super touristy sometimes ^^

Lastly we grabbed some food and headed home after a looong day~

Until next time..<3

17th of May; How I Celebrated Norway's National Day!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday was May 17th; Norway's national day! :D
I did not have the time to blog that day what so ever. The day was packed with fun and national pride. I had so much fun! We walked a lot, ate a lot and drank beer with great people.

The day started with a champagne breakfast together with some friends. We popped the champagne bottle, ate pavlova and watched the children's parade in Oslo and the royal family waving at the people + celebrations from all around Norway on the TV.

When we finished eating and drinking, we made our way into town to walk in the main parade together with our history student association. The parade was filled with all sorts of student associations, local associations, marching bands and other groups of people. Even the Norwegian stormtroopers group walked in the parade. It was really cool!

Stormtroopers!!

After a lot of walking, cheering and dancing in the parade, we went to take some photos with our student association. Also got to take some group photos with my friends. After the photos were taken people kinda scattered all over the place. We decided, true to tradition, to go stuff our faces with ice-cream and hot dogs. Yum!

Next up we just wandered around a little, looking at all the people and stall with food. Ended up getting myself a slice of pizza since, since for some weird reason a hot dog and ice-cream did not satisfy my hunger.

Then we watched the russetog (parade full of russ). Quite nostalgic watching them, made me miss my time as a russ. After watching them jump and dance around through the streets, we made our way over to a pub to get a beer. And after finishing one beer, we headed over to eat a pizza (everyone was quite hungry after walking a lot that day).

russ^^

When the pizza had been devoured, we headed back to the pub to grab some more beer and catch up with more people. And then we went home.

I have to say, jumping into bed was pure heaven after all that walking! Fell asleep once my head hit my pillow.

This year was my first time celebrating our national day away from home, and it was quite weird, but it was nice. Since I had my friends with me, it was all good.

Hope this was interesting for you to read, and maybe you learned something new about our celebration of the national day.

Until next time.. <3
