Ways To Care For Your Immune System

Aaaachoo!....

Hello there! I think I have a slight influenza at the moment, and I thought I'd share with you what I do get well again and also just how I generally take care of my immune system to make sure I don't get sick all the time. I used to get sick all the time before, but after actually taking care of my immune system and figuring out what I'm lacking, I have been getting less sick.
Do take notice that this is what works for me. I can't guarantee you it will work on you, but most of the stuff I do is basic stuff that I think most people do.

1. Drink loads of liquid.

I usually try to drink a lot of water on a normal basis, so when I get sick I don't have to make drastic changes to my intake. Tea and water is mainly what I drink, and I'll also have a couple of cups with vegetable broth or something that is easily swallowed since my throat hurts. Usually I don't have much of an appetite when I'm sick so by drinking vegetable, chicken or other types of broth I still get a little bit of nutrition. Plus it's liquid, so it will help re-hydrate my body.

2. Vitamins

I usually eat/drink Vitamin-C supplements when I start feeling slightly groggy so I can fight the influenza or flu or cold before it really attaches itself to me. In my kitchen I have a box with Vitamin-C capsules and also some fizzing tables that I dissolve in water. It's important for your immune system to get enough vitamins to function and fight all the diseases that threaten. Also Vitamin-D are great for boosting the immune system. Here in Norway most people have a lack of Vitamin-D, especially during winter times when we hardly see the sun. So that I also take.

3. Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)

This is my holy grail. GSE is very versatile, I use it for cleaning my pierced ears, to disinfect wounds or infections and to fight influenza and other annoying bacterias. The list can go on and on, but those are some of the things that I remembered off the bat. When I feel my throat start to hurt, or if I'm feeling groggy, I take about 15-20 drops of GSE in a glass, add some water (not too much, not too little, usually like maybe a deciliter?) and stir it. The I drink it, and repeat later on the day. I think it works wonders for me. Combined with Vitamins and other supplements, I stay quite healthy these days.

4. Other supplements
In additon to Vitamins and GSE, I also take Olive Leaf Extract. This helps boost my immune system a lot. I do notice a difference from when I take the supplements and when I don't. I also take magnesium and calcium, the magnesium is mainly for my period cramps, and the calcium is because I don't get enough calcium taken up in my body all the time. Now this will differ from person to person, so what I have little of in my body, you might have enough of, so always consult a professional before you start taking too much supplements. It's always best to be sure so you don't take too much. But some of these things are quite harmless to take, for example Vitamin-C; it's water soluble, which means our body doesn't store it, so we have to include it in our diet anyway, so if one takes too much of it, it won't stay in the body. Too much Vitamin-C can cause diarrhea though. But nothing too serious, unless you have any special circumstances. If so, make sure you check what you can take, and what you can't.

5. Garlic

I love garlic! It's so delicious, and it boosts my immune system. I try to add as much garlic to my diet as possible, not only because it's good for fending of influenza and such, but it is a great addition to almost anything. A tip I learned recently is to eat at least one glove of garlic a day. I sometimes just take a whole glove and eat it as it is (chopped up in pieces though). Try it, you might discover a long lost love of garlic at the same time.

6. Sleep

This should probably be way longer up on the list, but I am just going by memory here now. Sleep is so so so important if you wanna stay healthy. If you get enough sleep, your body will be happy and healthy, and your immune system will thank you. When we sleep the body gets time to repair itself, so give it as much time as it needs, specially when you're sick. I try to go to bed kinda early whenever I'm sick so my body can restore itself.

7. Eat healthy

This is always important, not only for your immune system, but for your overall health. If you feed your body crap, it will feel like crap. Of course, once again, everybody is different. Some people might not feel like this, but in the later years the after effects of what you eat might come to haunt you. Whenever I'm sick I always get kinda lazy when it comes to food, but when I do make some proper food, it makes me feel much better than that pack of instant noodles did. When one is sick, eating healthy might not be too easy, but if you eat healthy on an average basis, it will be easier to keep it up while you're sick. Some instant noodles now and then when we're sick doesn't hurt, but don't let all your nutrions come from it. Eat vegetables, broth, meat, fruits or other healthy stuff. Although I would recumbent staying away from too much sugary foods like fruits, even though they contain loads of healthy stuff, they also contain fruit sugar, which in too big amounts might not be good for your body. Eat more vegetables instead, they are also packed with all the healthy stuff, but without the fruit sugar. Of course, some fruit is good, so don't get me wrong.

8. Relax

Get a good book or audio book and just sit back with your cup of tea to relax. Relaxing your body and mind will give the immune system more possibilities to work, and you will also feel better after some relaxing time. When I get sick, I almost always end up sitting by my computer or on my phone because I don't really have energy for anything else. But by using so much technology, my mind doesn't get a moment of peace, especially because of the lights coming from them. Close your computer, put your phone away and entertain yourself the old fashioned way for a couple of hours. You'll feel so much better afterwards.

These are some of the things I do to take care of my immune system and stay healthy. I hope you found it interesting, and do leave a comment if there is anything you'd want me to write/talk about.

Hair Update; PINK

Hello world!

So I have been rambling on for at least a year about wanting pink hair, but I never dared to do so because it meant I would have to bleach it, and I have failed at bleaching it earlier. But lately I have been playing with the idea of just bleaching the tips of my hair, like a dip-dye or a ombre kinda look, and then I could color that part pink. And about two weeks ago my plan/idea was set in motion. They were having a sale at HM on bleach, so I got two boxes of Schwarzkopf bleach, one for darker hair and another one for light hair.

I bleached my hair first on Friday the 13th, and this is the result of that;

I already liked the result since it looked kinda fire-ish, but it was a little orange so I wanted it lighter.

Next I bleached it on Tuesday the 17th and then it looked like this;

A lighter yellow, blonde look, but still kinda orange..
In the time between these bleaches there was another sale on an even lighter bleach from Schwarzkopf with silver/white-ish color, so I bought that in hopes for it to help make the pink color light and pastelly. I didn't take any photos of how my hair looked after the third bleach since I was color it pink once it dried. I guess I got too excited.. :p

Here is what it looked like the next day after I colored it;
I really LOVE the color! <3 It turned out lovely, not as pastel as I had hopes, but it fades after a couple of washes. I am obsessed with this color now, I can't stop looking at it. It's so awesome! I need to find some more pink color, because the one I used is from Japan, and I don't think I'll be able to get a hold of it very easily here in Norway... So I'm gonna check out some sites or places that sell fancy hair colors to see if I can find some awesome colors. Might also switch it up a bit after a while~ Thinking of going blue for a while, or purple/lavender. But first I'm gonna enjoy some time staying pink. ^^

Here's the color I used to get it pink, it's called Cure Color Treatment and I think it's called a butter color if I'm not mistaken. ( I might be.. );

Hope you liked this post and feel free to leave me comments or send me requests if there is anything you want me to write about~ ^^

Beautiful weather~

Good morning!
This was the morning view a couple of days ago, so pretty. The trees were bare and the sun was warmly shining onto my face. Then this morning... This was my view:

SNOW. EVERYWHERE. It's once again become a winter wonderland outside. But since the air is still warm it won't be long until it's all slurpee again...

On a more beauty related note I got my hair almost where I want it now. I'm in the middle of bleaching my tips and then color them in some color. Here's what I've got so far:

I also found an old photo from the comic-con party I went to as Miku. I really like this look!

Hope you're having an awesome February so far!
Bye Bye~

NEW HAIR COLOR!

Guuuys I finally did it!!

This is what it looks like after the first round of bleaching. I kinda like it, looks fiery. I think I will bleach it once more at least, so I can get a less yellow look. I wanna try and get it as light as possible so I can add pink over it. ^^
What do you think? Do I suit it?

As a bonus to this little update, here is my outfit from Valentine's Day when I went to a tapas night a some friends house. It was so much fun, and I ate so much food. Proper way to spend Valentine's.

Valentine's Day Makeup 2015~

Happy Valentine's Day! <3

I mentioned that I was filming a Valentine's makeup video earlier, and now it's finally edited, so here you go~
This is a look I think fits Valentine's since it's got the bold red lips paired with my favorite look, winged eyeliner. If you switch the red lips with some lighter colors it becomes more toned down, so you can just mix and match to your hearts content, and find a match that suits your occasion.
Hope you enjoy it! ^-^

New RANDOM video~

I made a kinda random video, hope you like ^-^

Outfit of the Day 10.02.15

Hello~

This is the outfit I wore today.
Since the temperature is slowly making it's way over to the plus side I decided that today is a day for shorts! I really love these leather shorts! I have been looking for a pari of these for over a year, and I finally found one in December. And it was on sale!! Lucky~ I got it from H&M.
I paired it with a basic, comfy white t-shirt, also from H&M, and threw my patterned light cardigan over. The cardigan is from B-young I think, I don't remember. But the brand is called Pieces at least. Also added a warm fleece tights to stay warm, since it's not that warm yet. But we're getting there~

Maybe I should be doing this more often? What do you think? ^-^)

Sneak peek on my valentines look~ + Hatsune Miku ^-^

Yahoo~

How has your Monday been? I am so missing the weekend already, can't wait for Friday~
I am now sitting in my room, enjoying a cup of tea and trying to write on my semester assignment about the roman armies power at the end of the 4th century. But since I need a little break from all the thinking and argumentation, I can instead try to write something here~

So these past few days have been really chilled. I have basically been staying at home trying to save money by not tempting myself to go near any stores right now. I have also been trying to make a couple of Youtube videos, and hopefully I got something I can work with.
Did a makeup video, dedicated to valentines day, which is this upcoming Saturday. Since I am single, I don't really have any big plans, other than eating chocolate and hang with some friends. Maybe we should go out and have fun? Hmm, maybe. ^-^ But anyway, in the honor of Saint Valentine, I wanted show you guys a look that I think fits the day. But really, everyday should be filled with romance, not just once a year. So don't forget to show people you love them on those everyday moments as well. Those are the days that matter the most.

Since I haven't gotten around to editing the video yet, I thought I'd show you guys some pictures of the look I went for. As a teaser~

I made myself some ramyun for dinner the other day. It's so delicious. This is a spicy ramyun with a poached egg, corn and ham~ Super yum! <3

A couple of weeks ago we went to a comic-con themed party, which gave me a chance to get out my blue Miku wig and costume~ Had so much fun that I forgot to take a photo of my finished look... Sorry ><"

This is the only picture I have of my outfit that night
 Now I better get back to my assignment!
Byw bye~
